With 30 years of transportation experience, he has overseen programs and projects that benefited transit and rail systems for Long Beach, San Francisco and Atlanta. Kenneth McDonald has served the President and CEO of Long Beach Transit since August 2013.
He has 30 years of transportation experience in both the public and private sectors where he has overseen transit programs and projects as Vice-President for Transit and Rail Systems for Parsons Brinkerhoff; and has held the position of Chief Operating Officer at SFMTA in San Francisco and Assistant General Manager of Operations at MARTA in Atlanta.
Kenneth holds a MS degree in Technology Management and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. He is a member of Vistage International, Long Beach Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. Kenneth is also a past member of the Downtown Long Beach Alliance Board of Directors.
Ken loves to inspire employees at Long Beach Transit. His weekly inspirations from the CEO are posted on the doors throughout the organization. One recent quote: “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change” Charles Darwin.
