During #BlackHistoryMonth, we want to spotlight current leaders making a change, today. Mrs. Wade is the CEO of New Hope Homes, a senior living facility in the 6th District of Long Beach. In her role as CEO she oversees the day to day operations of the 140 Unit apartment community.
She provides the New Hope residents with opportunities to experience the Arts in conjunction with International City Theater. Ms. Wade has collaborated with NAACP, NCNW and other community groups to provide opportunities and services for the community. She works with the OC food bank to prevent food insufficiency among the residents of the senior community. She has initiated voter education programs and made New Hope Homes a polling place. In an effort to bring City Hall to the community, she has facilitated meetings with the City of Long Beach.
Through her philanthropic efforts Ms. Ware personally hosts educational awareness and fundraising events and activities during Breast Cancer awareness month. Ms. Wade funds food and clothing giveaways to the homeless in the greater Long Beach community.
She has received several awards and accolades from the California State Senate 33rd District, California Legislature 63rd and 64th Districts, City of Long Beach along with the 6th and 8th Districts, NAACP, Andy Street and Delta Sigma Theta to name a few.
Ms. Wade is the proprietor of Beautifully Contagious, a collectable, art gallery and art restoration service. Ms. Wade, or Peachez as she is affectionately called, saw a need to sell and frame Black Art. She wanted to showcase art that inspired, uplifted and gave meaning to the Black community. She has maintained a business in the Long Beach community since 1991. Beautifully Contagious is the manifestation of her vision to educate and grow interest in African American influence and advance the knowledge of African American past and Future.
Ms. Wade is an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. She is a member of Beta Pi Sigma, Inc., Business Sorority, NCNW, an Executive Board of the NAACP Long Beach Chapter, the Soulful Seniors of Cerritos and a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
